Improving Patient-Centered Care Through a Resilient Staff and Organization
Organizations are living systems that are susceptible to trauma and stress. Stress-related problems cost organizations in the United States workforce more than $300 billion a year. Intentional attention and action must be made to create a healthy and restorative trauma-informed environment for staff and patients.

A resilient organization with leadership buy-in and support that addresses and minimizes compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma will yield an increase in staff health and morale, staff and patient satisfaction, productivity and effectiveness. Healthcare organizations that practice and promote staff resiliency experience lower staff turnover and sick leave.

Attendees will improve their understanding of:
  • Compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and burnout effects
  • Organizational strategies and hands-on tools that increase staff resiliency in a Healthcare setting including a low impact peer debriefing tool
  • Organizational strategies and hands-on tools for trauma-informed best practices suited to the organizational healthcare environment

Anonymous pre-training surveys can be distributed to participants prior the training to assess individual level of burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma and work environment issues.
